Real Steel History:

The classic Model 75, even when it debuted in 1975 it was a highly regarded, highly demanded pistol in the US and Europe for its elegant, ergonomic design, high magazine capacity and smooth function. It was the pistol design that truly put CZ pistols on the map.

The CZ M75 design was inspired by the Browning high power pistol but improved heavily on its design template. Originally the M75 was designed for use by Czech police, it was smaller and lighter than a traditional M1911 design with a slide that fit into the frame for smoother cocking and a sturdier build.

As its name suggests, the 75D Compact, is a smaller version of the original M75. Its reduced size makes the weapon lighter and therefore easier to carry whilst its reduced size allows this model to be used as a concealed weapon. Furthermore, as it was originally designed for use by Czech police, the “D” in its name refers to the de-cocking function the original real steel version had which allowed police officers more control and increased safety when using their firearm on duty.
